Welcome to Afghanistan!

Upon your arrival at Kabul International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your local guide. After transferring to your hotel and completing check-in, begin discovering the fascinating history and culture of Afghanistan’s capital.

Today’s Highlights

Visit a traditional tailor shop to order custom-made Afghan clothing. Ladies may also visit a local abaya shop if they wish to purchase traditional attire.

Visit Shah-Do Shamshira Mosque (Mosque of the King of Two Swords), one of Kabul’s most iconic landmarks, built in the early 20th century and overlooking the Kabul River.

Explore the historic Murad Khani Old Street, a beautifully restored neighborhood showcasing traditional Afghan architecture and artisan workshops.

Walk through the historic blacksmith district, where craftsmen continue centuries-old metalworking traditions.

Optional visit to Kabul’s famous traditional photographer, who still uses a rare 100-year-old box camera to produce classic black-and-white portraits (approximately 200 AFN per photo, payable directly by guests).

Visit Kabul’s traditional Gun Market.

Explore the colorful Bird Market, famous for its songbirds and long-standing local traditions.

Visit the beautiful Babur Garden, originally established in the early 16th century by the Mughal emperor Babur (1483–1530). The emperor himself is buried here, making it one of Afghanistan’s most important historical gardens.

If time permits, enjoy additional sightseeing and local experiences.


Overnight: In Kabul

After breakfast, depart for the beautiful province of Bamyan.

The journey covers approximately 180 km and takes around 4 hours, passing through spectacular mountain scenery, traditional villages, and the central highlands of Afghanistan.

Upon arrival, check in to your hotel before beginning your exploration of Bamyan’s remarkable historical sites.

Scenic drive from Kabul to Bamyan.

Visit the Soviet military tanks left behind from the Soviet-Afghan War (1979–1989).

Explore Gholghola (The City of Screams), built during the 6th–7th centuries and famously destroyed by the Mongol army of Genghis Khan in 1221.

Visit the magnificent Buddha Niches, where the two giant Buddhas were carved into the cliffs during the 6th century CE. These UNESCO World Heritage monuments stood for nearly 1,500 years before being destroyed in 2001.

Visit Shahr-e-Zohak (The Red City), a fortified citadel dating from approximately the 6th–8th centuries, strategically guarding the entrance to the Bamyan Valley.


Overnight in Bamyan

After breakfast, enjoy an unforgettable excursion to Band-e Amir National Park, Afghanistan’s first national park.

The round trip between Bamyan and Band-e Amir takes approximately 3 hours.

Band-e Amir Highlights

Visit the breathtaking Zulfiqar Lake.

Visit the deep blue Haibat Lake, the largest lake in the park.

Explore the stunning Blue Lakes from several panoramic viewpoints.

Visit the Women’s Craft Bazaar at Band-e Amir, where local women sell handmade souvenirs and traditional crafts.


Return to Bamyan in the afternoon.

Visit the beautiful Drogan Valley.

Explore the Women’s Craft Bazaar in Bamyan.

Walk through Bamyan Old Town and experience daily local life.

Free time for photography and interacting with local residents.


Overnight: Gholghola Hotel

After breakfast, depart Bamyan and return to Kabul.

Upon arrival, check in to your hotel before continuing your exploration of the capital.

After breakfast, enjoy some free time depending on your departure schedule.

Your guide will transfer you to Kabul International Airport for your departure flight.
